I have always wondered how those who condone abortion feel about infanticide. If the child is 6 weeks old, and it is deemed that it will be a 'burden on society', should we also then dispose of it? What difference does it make whether we kill the child pre or post birth?

We need to know more about children born to mothers who were denied an abortion. How are they raised? What becomes of them? Do they become more often criminals or otherwise a burden to society, more so than others? Or is there no affect? Furthermore, we need to know what the psychological and sociological fallout is for mothers who have had abortions. What happens to their relationship with their spouses or partners? What is the incidence of divorce or partner breakups for mothers who have had abortions? Are mothers adequately informed of the potential latent guilt feelings that they may encounter afterward? And so forth....

"this is not a question about legalization... it's a question of the federal gov't underwriting an elective proceedure." If this is about federally underwritten elective procedures then amendment should have been about all "elective" procedures and not just this one.

Boy, the first three comments are pretty closed minded. Does anyone take responsibility for their actions, anymore?

Only people who hate women and think their only purpose is to serve as brood mares think abortion should be illegal. Most of us have evolved beyond that thinking but the dullards are very powerful in politics.
