Folks, the absurd call for conservatives to bite the bullet and stay in the GOP just doesn't work. That is what gives us the RINOS in the first place. The GOP leadership knows you will dutifully vote for anyone with an R by his name, be he Allen Specter or an Olympia Snowe etc. If there is a mass exodus of conservative voters and more importantly, conservative $$$ the GOP will quit playing favorites in local primaries by backing whom they 'feel' can win that primary and allow the candidates to raise their own money. The GOP may also redo their primary system and close their primaries to only registered republicans in all states, as well as changes in the current times the primaries are held, which favor more liberal leaning candidates due to early primaries/ caucuses being held in more liberal states. I for one will give my money to candidates I like, not to the RNC to give to candidates they support.
The RNC is OUR party. conservatives shoult take it back and kick the RINOs out
The Washington Republicans messed up the primary in District 8 of Tennessee. The picked Steven Fincher as their guy before the primary even started. As it turns out, Fincher is a major RINO and a major recipient of corporate welfare through Farm Subsidies. The only true conservative in the race bailed out of the primary and he is running as a independant aligned with the TEA Partiers. His name is Donn Janes and he is who I will support. The RNC just keep on stabbing conservatives in the back. We need to stick together against the RINOs.
The GOP has done this before, back in 2006 they backed the rino, Lincoln Chafey over his conservative opponent, Steve Laffey, the mayor of Cranston, Rhode Island during that state's primary. In fact the RNC then declared during their August primary that IF Laffey won, the GOP would NOT back him in the general election with financial support or political ads. That was the moment I left the GOP (I was a RNC member) and became an independent. No longer did I support the party financially. I sent a letter as well as made calls to the RNC explaining my intention. Their reply was form letters and more begging for funds. The election of Steele over Blackwell to lead the GOP/RNC only reinforced my disdain for the GOP. Now I only back conservative candidates with my dollars directly, not the RNC itself.
You folks that talk about the need for multipartys are signing this countries death warrant. The left will stay together and the independents will ride with the moderate GOP and the conservatives will fail. Take back the GOP and kick out the McCains and Specters and Snowes, it is better to have a D in there then a Moderate at best Rino in reality. Mark Kirk of IL is a perfect example. He may win, but he is a gun grabber, pro abortion and worshiper at the alter of global warming. Lose for Conservatives.
This is your year folks. It takes a braver soul to walk away from abuse than it does to stay and take it. Take Donn Janes (I)(www.donnjanes.com) from Brighton in Tennessee's 8th. He started out in June as a Fiscally Conservative Republican candidate. He and his wife are both Navy Veterans, He has worked in the private sector for The National Security Agency, Dept Of Defense and Dept of Justice as a consultant, and for several Fortune 500 companies, yet the NRCC anointed before the primary, Stephen Fincher, a good 'ol boy farmer from Frog Jump that still hasn't explained his platform, because he handed them $300K. Then it came out that Fincher accepted 98% more corporate welfare (subsidies) than any other farmer in Tennessee. Millions. So we paid his campaign funds. All I am so is vote principle, not party. We owe the party nothing.
Until there is a party that is clearly named the "Conservative Party" no party will receive another dime from me. I'm tired of being hoodwinked, lied to and forced to vote for the lesser of two evils. As for Sarah Palin... I loved the woman until she endorsed the radical liberal rino John McCain. Now she is no better than all other politicians in my eyes. I'm looking for a man/woman that will take a stand and not compromise my values and the values of my fellow American Conservatives for either a few bucks or votes.
Send your money to SarahPAC instead of the RNC. She can remake the GOP in her own image.
My money goes to direct support for candidates that I know will defend our Constitution, not to a political party.
I send my support directly to the candidate who I like best. The parties have backed bad candidates in the past, or passed up good candidates. Look at NY23, where a rather liberal "Republican" was picked by the state party to represent the party in that election last November. The more true conservative had to run as an independent, thus splitting the vote allowing the Democrat a slight win. Had New York backed the conservative from the beginning the Republicans may hold that seat today.
Because Michael Steele is a Progressive, he is ruining the GOP. Until he's gone and a "Tea Partier" is installed as Chair, I give my little donations from my limited income to the Candidate.
We should not send them any money, but we should answer their surveys, focussing on any open-ended questions or any opportunity to give them real feedback. If you get a request in the mail, by all means send it back with an explanation why you cannot support them until they change their ways.
The RNC needs to stand behind conservatives and not RINOS, Kirk calls himself fiscally conservative when he voted for the largest tax hike in history!!! I will not give a dime to the RNC and may have to hold my nose to vote for Kirk over Ginnalois but I hate doing that!!!!! Patrick Hughes was a much better candidate and the RNC backed Kirk instead!! I hope Hughes runs as an Independent!!
The two party system doesn't work. People are much too complex to be in either one side or the other. People must find a way to break the two party system into a multi-party system because no one is happy.
Once again we're left with NO choice! The Republican Party needs to re-define themselves. This party is needs to figure out who they are and get in touch with Conservatives. If they continue to support moderates and 'Obama' lights, we all lose!
I already told the RNC NO MORE $ until they stand firm on the principles of the Constitution; to their own platform planks and work with ALL candidates equally. The RNC has decided it is the best organization to select a candidate? HAHAHA. People need to select principles over party and donate time and $ to the candidates which represent their own values. The FEDERAL government needs to butt out and let the States solve their own problems.
Our family supports the individual candidates, not the party. None of our money goes to the RNC. Plus, I'm getting tired of Washington trying to pick our candidates to run in the primary. In Indiana, we have some great conservatives running for Senate against Evan Bayh with great grassroots support. However, they keep on trying to push Pence or now, Coats, down our throats for Senate candidate. They have no idea what's going on in the hearts and minds of Americans.
The Republican party needs to move to the "MIDDLE RIGHT", away from center right but NOT to the FAR RIGHT! If they do so, this will offer a definate distinction between the parties. As it is now, there is very little difference in the two parties. If the Republican party moves to the middle right they will not only gain support from most republicans but also gain support from moderate independants, tea party constituants, and may also gain some moderate democrats. Really, all that needs to be done is recognize and support the "Planks" of the party.
well that is the crucks of the problem!,we still have thse country club blue blooders in the RNC and they seem to be satisfied with this type of attitude.Look I am in the 45th district in california and mary bono mack has the seat here and she has crossed the isle so many times she might aswell change from R.to D. that is why a message has tobe sent to support the knew breed of republicans, the ones who exsemplify real character and ethical beliefs in the constitution and not be a career polititian.that is why i am supporting and voluteering for one of those new republicans his name is clayton thibodeau
I strongly disagree with Stacey A. If they are electing reps for their own state, then yes let the voters take them in or out, but who goes to DC affects everyone in this country. And if the RNC is supporting him then he is getting money from out of state - so out of state folks should have a say in how their money is spent. Much like the way our government is SUPPOSED to be run! I say NO MORE RINOS!
Given that the Democrat's candidate WILL be to the left of any Republican or Conservative candidate, to handicap the non-Democrat candidate by lack of funding or support will, most likely, result in a Democratic win. Electing a candidate that is further to the left than the alternative does NOT meet the goals of conservatives. Fight out the intra-party differences in the primary and unite in the general election. Why elect the 'worst' candidate simply because you couldn't get the 'best'? Did that strategy work in 2008? ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!!!
I support candidates directly, not through the RNC. The RNC will support anyone with an (R) behind their name, which is why we have so many "RINO's"!
No, we should not support moderate ( liberal) Republicans. If their not conservative, I will not donate a dime to their campaign.
I think our money should go to those who put forth and defend the conservative point of view.this is what we want so we should fund it especially in the primary season. We have a strong electrified voice all across America today and we need to flex our conservative muscles and bend the GOP to our will.
I'll support my candidates directly but, ot a dime to RNC until they purge the Liberals and I mean those that call themselves Moderates too.
United we stand, divided we fall. It's that simple. Not all areas of the country are as conservative SOCIALLY as others. Social issues should be handled on the State level anyway. With Kirk, it's up to HIS constituents to speak loud & proud about how they want him to vote, per issue. If he doesn't follow their lead, they can take action to exert pressure & vote him out the next time.
