People who are not natural born citizens should be stripped fo their citizenship, if they commit a crime. Any crime. Like illegal aliens who have been legalizes or given amnesty or on a path to citizenshp, their legal status should be taken away and deported to the country they came from. One of the stipulations for PTC is no criminal back ground, so if they commit a crime they should be stripped of their legal status and deported.asap
I don't get scared easily...but this idea SCARES me. What if someone is only SUSPECTED that MAYBE they are a terrorist...or maybe they are not! I can see it go from this proposal to "strip the citizenship of anyone suspected of being a terrorist. I know all TOO well how it feels to be accused and found guilty of being a terrorist without any evidence whatsoever. I am Muslim, and one day I was walking towards a train depot, and I was stopped by the police on suspicion of being a terrorist simply because I was Muslim. Everything was looked upon as "suspicious" One of the officers said "if you weren't Muslim we would NOT be stopping you!" and he said "All Muslims are terrorists!" 4-1/2 hours later, I was finally released...that's right FOUR AND A HALF HOURS!!! They never even took me to the police station, and they committed serious violations of my rights. There were several Islamophobic comments from this one officer. Under this legislation, what would there have been to prevent these officers from abusing it and getting my citizenship revoked? If someone, who was born here, had their citizenship revoked, what would happen to them? If they are to be deported, where would they be deported to? Can't deport them to where they were born because they already are where they were born!!! What is the burdern of proof for this law to be imposed. What if it is later determined that someone was stripped of citizenship in error? What if someone crticizes the government, but not advocating overthrowing the government? For example, I have critized the Israeli government over things they have done, however, I have not advocated overthrowing the government, nor have I advocated harming Jews in any way. simply stated that I felt something they did was wrong. I was accused of being anti-semitic just for disagreeing with something they did. There are just too many questions about this.
Would make it soo easy to just call anyone a terrorist and strip them of their birth rights - that is a very dangerous thing to leave in the hands of a runaway government run by criminals like the U.S. is today. I say we strip Joe Liberman of his. That guy is a NWO asshole.
What happens to them after their citizenship is taken away? Ever read the Man Without a Country?
That's right. Next thing you know, people will get branded a terrorist just for disagreeing with people in power. You know, like the tea partiers.
I think after your convicted then Yes why should reap any rights as a US citizen. But then again, this is a subject that in the past we never had to address. Now all of a sudden we have this issue of people getting citizenship and using it against the US. But, we have plenty of good old American's who hurt other American's everyday. So let's put this in perspective.
Does this mean I won't have to pay taxes anymore if I work abroad?
Not when almost everything can be judged terrorism, these days...
