trindawg38, if you are still checking back here, i have a question for you. suppose some one is guilty of serious crimes, and they're hiding behind their "religion" to keep from getting arrested. seriously, just because some one appears to you to be devoutly religous, doesn't mean they shouldn't be prosecuted for their crimes. would you really want a criminal playing at being "religous leader" to represent what you believe in? would you prefer being led by a wolf in sheep's clothing rather than being led by a blameless lamb? better yet, lead your self to where you want to go. you don't some one else leading you any where. be your own leader. trust in others if you must, but if they're found to be any thing and every thing but honest, do you really want to follow where they go? nothing more i can say. you either under stand or you don't.

Has nothing to do with selling out. Has to do with the children who will never be the same again. The Pope is an partner in a felony crime. If you murder someone and I help you cover up the evidence then I am a partner in the crime. I would be as guilty as the person who committed the murder. Try not to let your religious beliefs cloud your better judgement but know that in the end his God will judge him.

I am RC but agree the Pope needs to be treated no differently than a priest. The problem would be is that the Vatican is like a country and there would need to be extradition proceeding to get him out of there. If there is no treaty with the Vatican there is little to no chance this would ever happen.

Just another step in making everyone equal under the law. Naively I thought that was already the state of affairs or that is what we endeavor to do in a free democratic society.

TrinDawg, maybe they are women who just found out that their desire to become priests has just been placed on the same level as pedophilia by the church...

I take it everyone who voted "yes" are not devout Catholics...sell outs.
