I make 64k and when you have a Stay at home wife, kids, house and 2 cars its not much. For the amount of education you need to be a teacher they need payed more, All I have is a High School diploma and I make 10k more, that's sad.
The additional 41K in benefits sounds great -- until you find that the city and state have no intention of actually PAYING those benefits when the time comes to retire. "We can't afford it!" they keep saying.
If you think they deserve more then you pay them Brent.
I say let'em have it. BUT as difficult as it may be, there must be a checks and balance to ensure that the quality of teachers is TOP NOTCH.
52,000 a year is not that much for someone who teaches our children the knowledge they need in this world, I say they should get a. Heck of a lot more! The 100,000 a year quote is for their benefits and salary. This is normal for about any job. You always pay more for you employee than what heir paycheck shows.
