Conservatives are their own worst enemy because they always will vote for anything or anybody as long as it is "not a democrat" and we end up in the mess we are in.     My concern is that many republicans have either thrown in with the likes of Kennedy and McCain on the amnesty issue or are just ignoring it. We need a strong voice to bring this issue front and center. Tom Tancredo is the only one I see doing this. This issue SHOULD be a winning issue for republicans, but too many of them are sounding like democrats. They are ignoring their base and what the vast majority of Americans feel about this. Then they wonder why they lost in 2006! You can't ignore us and then think we're going to get energized come election time. Wake up America or we might as well call ourselves North Mexico.

    Republicans! We must elect someone who not only represents the values of our Party but can also win in the General. Though John McCain and Rudy Giuliani may be more liberal than some would like, unlike some others, at least they have been honest and upfront with their positions. And both would trounce Obamma and Clinton! Mitt Romney may have the personal wealth and look good, but he’s too slick (and we already have one Clinton in this race). Where’s the substance and the courage of his convictions? He’s all over the place on the issues. Would we be getting the independent that voted for democrats in 1992 or the Republican who’s coincidently changed his positions in 94, 02 and 07- all before an election… I have nothing against him, but don’t claim you’re the next Ronald Reagan and then try to shut down a Web site that’s pointed out that he is anything but. If we are looking for a real conservative… we’ve got lots of better and more consistent choices in Sam Brownback, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson, Tom Tancredo. Any one of these guys would represent our values but not all have the electability of McCain or Giuliani. I think our best bet is to nominate Rudy or John and then hope that they pick a true conservative running mate like Tancredo, Gingrich, Thompson, etc…
