@Gonster - Wow, where did you lean to goose step verbally like that brownshirt?

I favor a ban on cell phones - period. They blur the lines between the professional and the personal and are turning all of us into drones.

Giving women the right to vote was one thing, but giving them the right to drive was totally wrong. Cars should have a shield that disables cell phones when the engine starts. A car is a mode of transportation, not a phone booth or the living room couch.

Only women should use cell phones while driving, because they're already know how to do that kinda stuff with lipstick.

As a trucker I have already seen several people dead in their car clutching a cell phone. It's a real bad ideal and people do not realize how far they travel at highway speeds in only a few seconds. I personally do not care about the person texting or talking on the phone because its their life and you can piss it away if you want. But it's the other people that know better but get caught up in somebodies poor decissions. I can only hope it does become law, but know it will not stop the idiots who feel their texts are so important. Police at least have a good reason to be texting but should be stopping for doing very intensive phone calls or text. Everyone should be concerned only about driving.

If there were a total ban on texting and cell phone use, wouldn't that also apply to police and their use of radio communication (not even close to hands free) and their texting terminals in patrol cars? If they were exempt from the law would that be because they are professionals at splitting their attention span? Where does it stop?

Public floggings (Fox would air it!) for those who harm another, public beheadings for those who kill while text/cell/driving. Governors on car engines might help. GPS can tell where we are and how fast we're going. The technology is already here, people have NO RIGHT to endanger others with their stupidity. We have 40,000 people dead on our hiways each year, and we shrug it off as a cost of doing business. Nanny states are necessary for ignorant, infantile sheeple. Corporal punishment seems like the only thing that gets through.
