    I don't mind if things are similar but not identical. What really rankles me is this worship over "spleen familiars" that seems to be railroading content every summer.

    Exact rehashes with different names would be pretty weak, but I'm for functionally similar items. It helps prevent some power creep upward (items getting too powerful), but it also helps to prevent any old IotM from being utterly irreplaceable, which would screw newer players over.

    Doesn't hurt me even a little if newbies get a cheap (and improved) version of something I already have. Heck, a bottle-rocket crossbow plus a bag of tricks are better than two bottle-rocket crossbows, so it helps me also. MP regen is the cat's nipples! Sure investments are degraded, but risk is part of the game when you're investing. I only wish I could have had a head's up so I could have sold my second BRC in June. ;) Anyway, the proceeds should still pay for my new bag of tricks with a good bit to spare, so I'm happy for all the newbies that will also be able to afford the multitudes of BRCs going on sale in the mall. For some people, sharing good fortune is also part of the game.
